The expanded gallery will include many of the original items from the Paul Allen collection that have appeared in the long-running display, as well as an abundance of rare musical and family artifacts loaned by Experience Hendrix, the family-run Seattle company that oversees the Hendrix legacy and estate.
The new exhibit will guide visitors through the three major periods of Hendrix's life and work, from childhood to early career to stardom. "Jimi Backstage" will explore his legacy as a recording musician and songwriter.
The new exhibit, featuring items from the recent Cit‚ de la Musique exhibit in Paris, is expected to be the largest display of Hendrix memorabilia in the world.
