Fiery steel guitarist Robert Randolph will join forces with Matchbox Twenty's frontman Rob Thomas during VH1's Save The Music 2005 Concert to perform Jimi Hendrix's "Voodoo Child (Slight Return)." The event held last week in New York City will make its television premiere on Sunday, April 17 at 9:00 PM. It will repeat at 11:30 PM that same night; Monday, April 18 at 9PM; Tuesday, April 19 at 12PM; and again on Wednesday, April 20, at 11:30 PM. (All times shown are Eastern Time). Robert Randolph and The Family Band is featured on the album Power Of Soul: A Tribute To Jimi Hendrix where he performs Hendrix's classic anthem "Purple Haze." The album, nominated for a Grammy at this year's Grammy Awards, is a dazzling 19 track collection that includes interpretations of Jimi Hendrix songs by Santana, Prince, Sting, Earth, Wind & Fire, Bootsy Collins, Eric Clapton, Lenny Kravitz, Devoted Spirits, Velvet Turner, Chaka Khan, Sounds of Blackness, Eric Gales, Cee-Lo, John Lee Hooker and Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble.
