and Sciences honored JIMIHENDRIX.COM The Official Jimi Hendrix Website
today with an "Official Honoree" distinction for the
11th Annual Webby Awards marking it as one of the top
Celebrity/Fan websites on the Internet.
Dubbed the "Oscars of the Internet" by the New York Times;
The Webby Awards is an annual awards program honoring achievements
on the Internet including websites, advertising, film & video and
mobile programming. The awards are judged by the International
Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences, which includes David Bowie,
Harvey Weinstein, Matt Groening, Jamie Oliver, Arianna Huffington,
Internet inventory Vinton Cerf and RealNetworks' CEO Rob Glaser.
The 11th Annual Webby Awards received more than 8,000 entries from
over 60 countries with only five websites earning the "Official
Honoree" badge in the Celebrity/Fan website category. Joining
JIMIHENDRIX.COM The Official Jimi Hendrix Website as honorees was
the official website for guitarist David Gilmour; the Walt Disney
Family Archives; plus websites for Jamie Lynn Spears and Miley Cyrus.
